I chose a pupil in the 6 th grade who went through a traumatic period because of his parent's divorce. He lives with his single mother, but has no brothers or sisters. However this child is a multi-talented kid: he likes music and plays in the Junior team of Hapoel Tel Aviv. He admires a few famous local soccer players. I would like to improve his vocabulary in English by using soccer as a theme. I want him to write short and correct sentences and to improve his ability in reading.(I will post the steps very soon).

special needs student

After this experience of meeting new people and getting know each other I will ask them to make a movie containing an interview with pupils from each side.That means they need to film 5 pupils from their class in english ( with reaction,interaction,feelings,thoughts),then they need to make the same interview in english with the pupils from the arab side.Once we have those movies we can watch them and add comments .They will be able also to compare the interviews, the points of view, the opinions,the ideas every group had presented.I think that through this activity I opened a window,an opportunity to let my pupils know the other side of the conflict and of course the opportunity to improve their english by making interviews and expressing themselves.What do you think guys?
